Why Walk the Talk?
Cater Care’s Corporate Social Responsibility program, Caring in the Community, commits us to supporting the communities we live and work in and there’s no better way to give back than by helping save lives.
Participating is simple: walk 65 kilometres this May to raise funds and awareness for the 65,000 Australians that attempt suicide each year. That breaks down to just 2 kilometres a day, and with a little commitment and support from your friends and family, you’ll be there in no time.
Every step and conversation brings us closer to stopping the stigma surrounding mental health – and feel healthier and happier while doing it!
Register today for Walk the Talk by Cater Care and raise money to help Lifeline answer more calls and save more lives.
How it works
Start the talking
Start the conversation and tell everyone you know that you’re walking the talk for Lifeline! Ask them to help you support Aussies going through tough times by making a donation to your fundraiser.
Add the walking
Slide into your walking shoes and start tracking your kilometres throughout the month of May. Don’t forget to grab your mates, and have a meaningful conversation. It could save a life.
Who will you Walk the Talk for?
Suicide can touch the lives of anyone, no matter who or where they are. Megan Jackson, a member of the Cater Care team, bravely came forward to share her story and why she feels our Caring in the Community program is so important.
“Only four months ago, my family lost our daughter’s partner through suicide. Firstly, I received so much support from my colleagues out here in our Remote workplace. It has been so heartfelt. When I read about our Caring in the Community program, it sent shivers all over me and I knew this was my time to talk more about this, as hard as it is/was to talk about and share this painful journey.
I want to help stop the stigma around mental health.”
